Drinkable Healthy Smoothies
Has anyone heard of the "Quarantine 15"?
At this point, I gave up on my prison body. My new goal is to not gain 15 more pounds before the world opens back up. With all the recipes I've been trying out, and my workouts averaging 15 minutes now, it's been really hard. But I haven't given up completely on my fitness and health. I want to share a few things on my personal daily routine that are helping me to stay motivated.
First, if you haven't established a daily routine (if you're out of work, school, etc.) while being at home, I highly suggest you do. Routines will facilitate to move your days forward. Having a daily checklist each day gives you a sense of accomplishment. So now's the time to start one. Each Sunday night make some time (before bed, in the tub, on the toilet) and create a to do list for yourself for each day of the week.
Anyways, what I really want to share with you are my favorite smoothies that have been benefiting me with my physical health, mood, creativity, and mental health. One of the things I do on my day-to-day bases is start my day with a home-made smoothie.
Why Smoothies and not Juicing?
I started "detoxing" long before quarantine and I did a lot of research. J.J. Smith's 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse explains that blending the all natural ingredients is more beneficial than juicing (with a juicer). A juicer discards numerous essential nutrients and vitamins. I 10/10 recommend her book.
Here are some easy to make smoothies that will help with your metabolism, vitamin intake, and hopefully prevent unwanted quarantine weight gain.

If you have never had a kale drink; tread lightly! Kale goes right through you. It is a strong antioxidant. I usually will have one of these smoothies in the morning, followed by a black cup of coffee, and just stay close to a bathroom. Each of the smoothies has significant amount of vitamins and nutrients, which is really helpful to get your day started on the right note. Stay healthy!
